Hi everyone, another week has passed in one of my favourite places to be, but what has been going on?

On Monday, we had loads of pickings! A lot more than I had expected! Myself and Sarah worked through these and then immediately helped out the packing team to keep up with the demand! Later on I served a few gentlemen who really wanted to treat themselves to some nice cigars that come in a lovely cigar box. They chose the Regius Orchant Seleccion Peru 2023 Wide Churchill, the colour really suited them and the flavour notes of the cigars really sold it. They also bought themselves a Cigarism Jet Lighter, Cutter and Cigar Stand Gift Box, I really think we will be seeing them a lot more in the future! I was also excited to see a cigar that I have heard about a lot online and have always wanted to try – The Drew Estate Factory Smokes. They are incredibly popular in America and I was so happy to see them come in a delivery.

Tuesday was more of the same, picking the orders and writing articles for the C.Gars Cigar Library. This time I wrote one all about snuff! It is a dying form of tobacco as cigars have become more popular, you can read more about it here. I also took all the pictures which involved opening a tin! I have never seen an open tin of snuff, the texture reminded me of finely ground coffee, it wouldn’t be my choice of tobacco intake but each to their own. Later on in the day I served a great gentleman who had been in the store before but I had never been with him myself. He told me all about himself and why he started enjoying cigars. We went through many different options for him to have and he settled on the Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2, Regius Serie Limitada Robusto, Alec Bradley Orchant Seleccion Shorty (my suggestion of course) and a couple of Drew Estate Deadwood SJ for his wife. In total I was with him for around an hour but it was lovely to finally meet him properly.

Thursday was the bi-weekly New World cigar stock take, Myself and Billy have mastered this and we did it in a record time again! We finished it in around 3 and a half hours! I didn’t know what to do with myself for the rest of the day. I decided to stock up the Cuban humidor as it is such a beautiful room so it needs to be kept that way. I then spent some time updating our till system, working through a very long list to ensure every cigar is on there.

Friday was a little bit different, due to staff illness and holidays we were a little short staffed but Ciaran and I handled it perfectly. So the day started with us both doing the Cuban stock take for the Humidor manager Billy, we handled that within 45 minutes and he was shocked. Meanwhile Billy and Content Creator Lewis handled the order pickings for us. As the day went on I was serving all of our lovely customers and Ciaran was dealing with the delivery of our stock. I did call upon Ciaran a few times as we were very busy in the store. I served one gentleman who treated himself to three different bottles of whisky, a Macallan 12 year old Sherry Oak Cask, a Macallan 12 year old Double Cask and a Yamazaki Distillers Reserve. I have tried all three and the Macallan Sherry Oak is the best in my opinion. I also served a gentleman who said he had drive past the place many times and finally decided to come in and was happy to do so! He was amazed with how big our shop is and the amount of stock we have. He went away with two Mitchelleros and a new Cigarism V-Cut in Black and a 20cl bottle of C.Gars Malt. He was very happy.

On Saturday, I was very happy to see Porscha back from her holiday. She was refreshed and ready to serve you all. Her first customer is everyones favourite, Tony. He was going to purchase a Tabernacle David but changed his mind and wanted to have something new but the same shape. Porscha recommended the Gurkha Cellar Reserva 18 Koi Perfecto and the Avo Domaine Short Perfecto. He was very happy with these selections and went home to smoke them immediately. I served a lovely lady who wanted a present for her husband’s birthday, I suggested the Box of Goodies Cigar Selection Gift Box. It has everything you need for a cigar smoker.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks goings on and I hope to see you in store very soon!
So long for now!
Oliver
